Careers at Aurora Counseling Associates

Aurora Counseling Associates is a group therapy practice in Natick, MA. We hire licensed and pre-licensed clinicians, build caseloads around each clinician's actual specialty, handle intake and billing in house, and provide named, scheduled supervision for clinicians working toward licensure.

Who we are looking for

We hire clinicians who have a clear sense of the work they do best and want to keep getting better at it. That matters more to us than the length of a CV.

In practice that usually means one of two people. An experienced clinician who wants a caseload built around their actual specialty rather than whatever comes through the door, and administrative support so they can spend their time in sessions. Or a newer clinician accruing hours toward licensure who wants supervision that is genuinely supervision rather than a signature at the end of the month.

We are a group practice rather than an agency. Nobody here carries a caseload designed by a spreadsheet.

What the work looks like

Caseloads are built around fit. When someone contacts us we ask what they are dealing with and match them with the clinician whose training suits it, which means your caseload reflects what you are good at.

We handle intake, insurance verification, billing and scheduling. Clinicians should not be spending evenings chasing claims.

In person at our Natick Center office, by telehealth, or both. Evening and Saturday availability is valuable and it is the first to fill, but we are not going to ask anyone to build a life around it.

Supervision and development

Pre-licensed clinicians work under a named supervisor with regular scheduled supervision. That is stated on their profile page and it is real time rather than a formality.

Across the practice, our clinicians work in a range of approaches: cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, trauma-specific protocols including EMDR, play and art therapy with children, and Gottman-trained couples work. Having that range in one practice means consultation on a difficult case is usually a conversation down the hall.

What we ask

Licensure or active progress toward it in Massachusetts, and the willingness to say when a client is outside what you do. We would rather refer someone out in week one than hold a case that belongs elsewhere.

We work with people across a wide range of identities, cultures and languages. Treating that as part of who someone is rather than a complication is not a specialty here, it is the baseline.

Questions

Common questions

Are you hiring right now?
There is no formal posting cycle. We look at every enquiry, and if there is no right opening we will say so plainly rather than leaving you waiting.
Do you take pre-licensed clinicians?
Yes. Pre-licensed clinicians work under a named supervisor with regularly scheduled supervision, and that supervisor is stated publicly on their profile page.
Is the work in person or remote?
Either or both. We see clients in person at our Natick Center office and by telehealth wherever the clinician is licensed.
Do clinicians handle their own billing?
No. Intake, insurance verification, billing and scheduling are handled by the practice.
How are caseloads assigned?
By fit. When someone contacts us we ask what they are dealing with and match them with the clinician whose training suits it, so a caseload reflects what that person does well.
