Therapist Serving Wayland, MA

Aurora Counseling Associates is a group psychotherapy practice at 20 N Main St in Natick, the town directly south of Wayland. We have worked with MetroWest clients since 1998. There is no Aurora office in Wayland itself; Wayland residents meet us in person at the neighboring Natick office or by secure video from anywhere in Massachusetts. This page is for people in Wayland deciding between those two paths.

How Wayland residents reach our office

We are twelve licensed clinicians working with children (approximately ages 3 and up), teens, adults, couples, and families across anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, perinatal and postpartum mental health, couples and family work, child and adolescent therapy, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and neurodivergence-affirming work.

Wayland and Natick share a border, so the office at 20 N Main St is one of the nearer options for much of the town. The practice's evening hours (until 9pm on weeknights) and Saturday appointments are set up so a standing weekly session can fit around work and family rather than compete with it.

Telehealth for Wayland clients

For Wayland residents who would rather not build a drive into the week, secure telehealth is a full alternative, not a lesser one. Our clinicians are licensed in Massachusetts and the session runs the same as in person; you join from your own space. Coverage also extends to clients in Vermont, Michigan, Florida, and Connecticut where the responsible clinician is licensed. See online and telehealth therapy.

Who we work with

The practice sees children (approximately ages 3 and up), teens, adults, couples, and families. The concerns we work with include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, perinatal and postpartum mental health, couples and family work, child and adolescent therapy, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and neurodivergence-affirming work.

Families often reach out about adolescents specifically: anxiety, school refusal, perfectionism, identity exploration, and the strain that builds when a teen's coping has not kept pace with their workload. Several of our clinicians focus on child and adolescent work, and we will match a family with whoever fits the situation best.

If you are in crisis

Aurora is an outpatient practice and not a 24/7 crisis service. If you or someone you are with is in immediate danger, call 911. For mental health crisis support any time, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline). MetroWest residents can also reach the Advocates emergency line, the regional crisis services provider.
