Contact Aurora Counseling Associates

We are glad you are reaching out. The fastest way to start is to request an appointment, and someone from our team will get back to you within one to two business days to learn what you are looking for and match you with a clinician who fits. If you would rather talk to a person first, call 508-650-0991.

How to reach us

Phone: 508-650-0991. Best for questions you want answered before committing to anything, and for anything urgent during business hours.

Request an appointment: the appointment request page explains what the form asks and what happens after you send it, which is worth two minutes if you have never done this before.

Email: katherine@auroracounselingassociates.com, for administrative questions. Email is not secure, so please do not use it for clinical detail or anything you would not want sitting in an inbox. Our policies page covers how we handle communication between sessions.

Where we are

20 N Main St, Natick, MA 01760

We are in Natick Center, a short walk from the Natick Center commuter rail stop on the Framingham/Worcester line. There is municipal parking nearby. Allow a few extra minutes on your first visit so you are not arriving flustered, which is a worse way to start a first session than being five minutes late.

Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8am to 9pm. Evening and Saturday appointments exist because most people work, and they are the first slots to fill.

Most of our clients come from Natick, Wellesley, Framingham, Wayland, Sherborn and Hopkinton, and our areas we serve page has drive times from each.

Accessibility

Our Natick office is on the second floor and is not currently wheelchair accessible. We state that here rather than leaving you to discover it at the door.

If stairs are a barrier, tell us when you reach out and we will arrange telehealth or another accommodation. The same applies if you need an interpreter, a specific communication format, or anything else that would make using our services workable. For Deaf and hard of hearing clients, Deaf and ASL services covers how we set up communication.

Telehealth

Sessions by secure video are available wherever your clinician is licensed, which across the practice currently spans Massachusetts, Vermont, Michigan, Florida and Connecticut.

You need to be physically located in one of those states at the time of your session. That is a licensing rule rather than a preference of ours, so a session cannot travel with you. Tell us before you go away and we will tell you whether it can go ahead. Online and telehealth therapy covers the rest.

What to expect when you get in touch

We read every request ourselves. Nothing is triaged by software and nobody is screened out for having a complicated situation.

The first conversation is short, usually ten to fifteen minutes. We ask what brings you in, whether you have been in therapy before, what you are hoping changes, and the practical constraints: when you can meet, in person or telehealth, and what your insurance is. We are not assessing you. We are trying to make a good match on the first try rather than the third.

If we have the right clinician with an opening, we introduce you. If the right person has a wait, we tell you how long it is. If nobody here fits, we say so and point you somewhere that does.

For Deaf and hard of hearing clients, Deaf and ASL services covers how we set up communication.

Before you call, if you want the answers first

Cost. Self-pay is 200 to 250 dollars per session. With in-network insurance you pay your plan's copay, coinsurance or deductible amount. Rates and insurance has the full list of plans we accept.

Who you would see. Every clinician is on our therapists page, with what each one works on and how they practice.

What we treat. What we treat covers the areas the practice works in.

Whether therapy is even the right step. That is a reasonable thing to be unsure about, and the first call is a fine place to work it out. If a support group, a psychiatric consultation or a different level of care fits better, we will tell you.

If this is an emergency

We are an outpatient practice and we are not staffed for emergencies. Phone and email are not monitored outside business hours.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, free and confidential, 24 hours a day. Our crisis resources page lists what to use for specific situations, including the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line at 833-773-2445 for something urgent that is not an emergency.

Questions

Common questions

How quickly will I hear back?
One to two business days. A request sent on a Friday evening will usually get a response early the following week. If three business days pass, call 508-650-0991, because occasionally a form or a voicemail goes astray.
Can I call instead of filling out a form?
Yes. Some people would rather talk to a person first, and that is a perfectly good way to start.
Can you leave a voicemail or send an email?
Only in the way you tell us to. We ask how we may contact you, including whether it is safe to leave a message, and we follow it exactly. That matters when someone shares a phone or a household.
Do I have to know what kind of therapy I want?
No. Most people do not, and choosing an approach is our job rather than yours.
Is the office wheelchair accessible?
No. It is on the second floor and is not currently wheelchair accessible. Tell us if stairs are a barrier and we will arrange telehealth or another accommodation.
Can I request a specific clinician?
Yes. If you have read a bio and want to work with that person, say so and we will tell you whether they have availability.
What if I need help outside business hours?
Use 988 or 911. We do not monitor phone or email overnight, and we would rather be direct about that than have you waiting on a reply that is not coming.
